Let's Talk Lipstick

Yay, lipstick! I'm a little obsessed. (Note: These are not all my lipsticks. All of them would not fit neatly in one picture, haha)

One of my favorite beauty gurus is Samantha Ravndahl, from Batalash Beauty. So when she came out with her own lipstick, I obviously bought it the first day it came out.

This was my first lipstick from Lip Land. And I must say, I'm impressed. The texture and the smell is to die for. It's super creamy, but still ultra pigmented. And it smells like delicious cake. Win-win.
I was also impressed by my whole Lip Land experience. This lipstick was $14.99, with free shipping anywhere in the U.S. I ordered it Monday morning, it shipped Monday afternoon, and arrived Saturday from the opposite end of the country. I was thrilled!

Samantha designed this to be the "perfect nude" for her. Not too pink, not too brown. But this looks different in all kinds of lighting.

Natural Lighting

 Artificial white lighting

Artificial yellow lighting

So once I saw it in different lightings, I wanted to compare it to some lipsticks I already own.

So my overall opinion: I love this product. It applies well, the service was great, and it's its own color. When I first opened it, it looked extremely similar to "Crème Cup", and sometimes it looks more like "Cookie", but it's definitely different enough that I don't regret buying it. So, two thumbs up, Samantha and Lip Land!

The Joker and Harley Quinn

Do you ever have those days, when you have a lot to do, and you really don't want to do it? And then you see the new posters for The Suicide Squad movie? "Ferb, I know what we're going to do today!"

Well last week, in an attempt to further procrastinate, my sister and I dressed up as the new Harley Quinn and the old Joker. Just for fun... Because why not?

Anyway, it was awesome. I did our makeup, we cosplayed, we went outside in the mushy fall weather and took pictures, while our little brother made fun of us. Good times.

I posted a few of them on Instagram, even though I really wanted to post them all. I thought that might be a little overkill, so now this post is dedicated to that time. Enjoy :)

I used the tutorials from the fabulous Glam & Gore on YouTube(definitely check her out if you're into SFX makeup). For a list of the products I used, check out my posts on Instagram for India's Harley Quinn look and my Joker look.

This was by far the most fun I've had on a look. I love the times when you can just get really crazy and messy, like with the Joker. (I keep accidentally typing "Jokey"... weird.) Harley's makeup wasn't as messy, but still super fun. I'm hoping to get my hands on some SFX supplies before the Suicide Squad movie comes out next year. Either way, this is definitely how we're going to it.

Greetings, Interweb

Hello Internet!

I'm Bella Kline, known as @bellakmakeup on Instagram. I'm an amateur makeup artist. I've been having fun with my makeup account, so I figured- why not try a blog? I've always thought it sounded fun, so I'll give it a shot.

This first post will be a little about me. Other than makeup, I love reading. LOVE. READING. My dream is to have a library like the Beast's in Beauty and the Beast(really). Some of my favorite books are The Lunar Chronicles, The Selection series(Maxon... *sigh*), The Hunger Games, Red Queen... the list could go on and on. Plus there are the classics I love, which admittedly are few. Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice. You know. Oh, and Edgar Allen Poe. Love that guy.

Some makeup I did inspired by "Red Queen." The two colors really got my wheels turning.

Like all teenagers, I can't live without music. Demi Lovato, Paramore, Fall Out Boy... The good stuff.

Now time for TV and movies! Oh, where do I begin... I'm in several fandoms, including but not limited to: The Hunger Games, Doctor Who, The Avengers, Disney, The Maze Runner... You know what? Just look at my Pinterest profile. That would be easier than listing them all here.

So this was probably super boring, but I wanted to jump into this before I chickened out. I'm thinking about doing swatches and a reviews of the new-ish Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. Or maybe the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix palette? We'll see ;)
